Silver Fern Farms suggests a strike at its central Hawke’s Bay plant upcoming week will not cause it to near.

Nineteen routine maintenance change employees at the Takapau plant have voted to strike for three times from 3 January.

Their union, E tū, reported the firm experienced refused to give them a good supply in negotiations.

Silver Fern Farms spokesman Justin Courtney explained the organisation had negotiated in superior faith, and the spend offer would be backdated.

He reported it would continue to negotiate.

Mr Courtney stated there were plans in position to go on to operate the plant in spite of the strike motion, at what was an vital time of year for farmers.
