The Huron Township Public Safety Department has been giving out random acts of kindness all month to residents of the township.
In addition to hosting the annual Shop with Hero event where they took seven area children Christmas shopping, they also did the following acts.
•A 7th Grade Renton Jr. High student was taken on a shopping spree by Director Robbins, Huron School Resource Officer Keith Nappo and Renton Teacher Karla Nash. She bought herself new clothes to wear to school and a Lego set that she told us was the only thing she really wanted for Christmas.
•A Huron High School student was provided a brand-new Xbox One Video Game system by Bernie Yoscovits, his family, and XG Security Services. The student was then taken to GameStop where the community’s donations allowed him to purchase games for his new Video Game system. The student told us that this was the first video game system that he had every had for himself and was now able to play with his friends in school.
•A Miller Elementary School family down on their luck was adopted by the Miller Elementary Secretarial Staff along with the Huron Township Dispatch Staff. They will receive all the fixings for a Christmas Dinner, along with a visit from Santa with gifts on Christmas Morning.
•Huron Township Public Safety employees have been out delivering new bikes and toys to kids throughout the area and will continue to do so throughout the rest of the holiday season.
