GWINN, Mich. (WLUC) – Forsyth Township Snowmobile Club will be hosting a snowmobile safety course for students between the ages of 12 and 16.

The class will be held Friday, December 29th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It will be taught by a deputy from the Marquette Sheriff’s Department.

Once completing the course, students will receive their snowmobile safety certificate. This allows teens between 12 and 17 to legally ride without a guardian.

“This is an opportunity for them to actually learn about the aspects of snowmobiling: how to be safe, basic maintenance on snowmobiles, and also getting a proper guidance on starting out as young adults being able to ride on snowmobiles,” said Todd Lundstrom of the Forsyth Township Snowmobile Club.

There are 24 spots available. To reserve yours, call Todd Lundstrom at (906) 362-1168.

The only things students need to bring are warm clothing and a sack lunch.

The class will take place in the Forsyth Snowmobile Clubhouse a half mile east of Kountry Korner on M-35.
