BLOOMINGTON — A man is charged with aggravated battery after he allegedly choked a woman and used a knife to stab a wall.
Bilal A. Muhammad, 19, was jailed in lieu of $1,035 and ordered to stay away from the woman.
Police said the man threatened the woman with a knife, stabbed the wall multiple times, and choked her until she blacked out.
Aggravated battery — Derrick D. Curtis, 31, is charged with aggravated battery after his actions allegedly caused an injury to a police officer.
He was jailed in lieu of $335.
Police said Curtis was asleep behind the wheel of a car. When officers woke him up, he complied with an initial field sobriety test but then refused others.
After he was placed in handcuffs, he tried to run away, and an officer was injured while getting Curtis to the ground.
