AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Highlighting holiday safety, along with presenting an opportunity to mingle with those who keep our community safe, are the cornerstones of the Fall Safety Festival.
Entering its third year, it is back with more demonstrations and support.

Augusta’s fire department will show how to handle a turkey fry gone awry, while the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office will have a safety seat installation station.
Georgia State Patrol will make a grand entrance via helicopter to give guests a quick run-through of the interior.

Soldiers from Fort Gordon are also going to be handing out a couple hundred turkeys to lucky families.

Peppering the proceedings with an added jolt of holiday cheer will be Santa Claus, all the way from the North Pole.

This does not come together without some hard work. The Augusta Partnership for Social Change banded together with Red Cross, Boys and Girls Club of America, Goodwill and a host of others to present the event free of charge.
The 3rd Annual Fall Safety Festival is located at Daniel Field in Augusta, running from 10-2pm, November 21, 2017.
